DIANE ARMITAGE, is an artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, working in digital video. She has a BFA in Ceramics and an MFA in Sculpture from the University of New Mexico and has studied digital media at the Santa Fe Community College. She is an adjunct lecturer in Art History at the Santa Fe Community College where she established the Art History program in 1999. She has also taught for the Santa Fe University of Art & Design and the University of New Mexico, and, since 1992, has been a freelance writer on art and film for THE magazine of the arts. Her work in new media has been shown nationally and her video, The Great River, is part of a five-year traveling exhibition of video projects that deal with the subject of water. She was selected for the book 100 Artists of the Southwest, edited by Douglas Bullis, (Schiffer Books, 2006).
